What Are K-Groups

In spring of 2022, Todd and Scott introduced a plan for a new meeting format called K-Groups. (To hear what they had to say, watch the sermon here.) These K-Groups will be weekly, in-home small groups and will serve as the replacement for Sunday and Wednesday night services for the next three months. The fall semester will run from Labor Day to Thanksgiving.

All groups have a date and time each week to meet and a different study topic. For example, Ken and Brenda Sauls will meet Sunday Evenings at 5:30 pm in their home and study, “Letters From Heaven.” Currently, we will offer five of these home groups with the hope that everyone can find a time that fits their schedule and a study that piques their interest. Below you’ll find a list and short description of each K-Group offered during this fall semester. Please read about each group and sign up for the one that best suits your interests and schedule.

We would love for everyone to participate in K-Groups and believe this is an important direction for Kingsway. These weekly groups are informal and casual. You can ask questions, discuss things you are curious about, and grow together into the life God has designed for you. We challenge you to give it a try. We believe everyone at Kingsway will enjoy K-Groups and look forward to the next semester of groups.

Take a look at the list below to find the leader, host home, meeting time, and topic of study of each group, and make the choice that works best for you. There is a sign-up sheet online as well in the vestibule at church. Feel free to contact the leader of the group(s) you are interested in to have your questions answered or to express interest.

We can’t wait to see you at K-Groups!

An Overview OF EACH GROUP

Leader: Ken Sauls
Date and Time: Sundays at 5:30
Location: The Sauls Home
Study Topic: Life’s Extras

Leader: Todd Freeman
Date and Time: Wednesdays at 6:30
Location: The Weiss Home
Study Topic: Battling Anxiety While Finding God’s Peace

Anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up. Proverbs 12:25. Are you anxious today? Is there something robbing you of God’s peace? Do not let your heart be troubled. Jesus is with you. Whatever you are afraid of is no match for him. Word of warning. Be careful that you are not anxious about what might be instead of what is. Max Lucado writes: Anxiety and fear are cousins but not twins. Fear sees a threat. Anxiety imagines one. Anxiety constantly asks, “What if?” Rest in our God. He has overcome this world.

Leader: Laine McCroskey
Date and Time: Fridays at 6:30
Location: The McCroskey Home
Study Topic: The Grace & Truth Pardox

Christians trying to model their lives after Jesus may find that He gets buried under lists, rules, and formulas. Now bestselling author Randy Alcorn offers a simple two-point checklist for Christlikeness based on John 1:14. The test consists of balancing grace and truth, equally and unapologetically. Grace without truth deceives people, and ceases to be grace. Truth without grace crushes people, and ceases to be truth. Alcorn shows the reader how to show the world Jesus — offering grace instead of the world’s apathy and tolerance, offering truth instead of the world’s relativism and deception. Grace or Truth…or Both?

Leader: Scott & Gayle Ranck
Date and Time: Wednesdays at 6:30
Location: The Ranck’s Home
Study Topic: TBD

Scott’s group will either be studying the book of Titus or End Time Events. This will be determined at the first KGroup.
