After 9 years of marriage, God called us to become full time missionaries in the beautiful country of Belize in Central America. We are realizing through this, some of the purposes God has for our lives and reasons for some of the lessons He has given us. Terry realized his call to missions at a Christian retreat called the Emmaus Walk. He got the opportunity a few months later to make his first mission trip to Nicaragua. He was so touched by the people and their lifestyle. God planted a seed during that trip and gave Terry a passion for missions. He continued to go when God opened the door. He has spent 18 weeks on the Gulf Coast in the years following Katrina helping to rebuild. In 2007 I went on my first mission trip to the Philippines. With Terry by my side we spent 23 hours on an airplane. It was a wonderful experience and was where God showed me that a life in missions could be a possibility.
Terry’s first trip to Belize was in August of 2009 with an established ministry called Body & Soul. He fell in love with the people and saw a great need. When he returned home I began praying for a medical mission so that I could go as well. The following October, Terry attended a meeting with the ministry and found out they were in need of full time missionaries. He heard God whisper to him and when he got home from the meeting he shared it with me. We began to pray about whether God would have us do this full time or just continue to make short trips to the country.
My first trip came in April of 2010 and I realized that my nursing skills could be used greatly in Belize and with Body & Soul Ministries. The very next month, Terry returned on a construction mission trip and God clearly spoke. Terry realized that we were to move to Belize and we could not put it off any longer. Immediately, Terry called and told me that God had spoken to him and asked me to pray specifically and harder about moving to Belize. He was very wise knowing that God could not just call him and I follow but that to be effective, God would call me as well and put us in agreement. About a week later I received my answer to prayer and since that day God confirms to us that this is where He wants us. Even through each trial, God follows it with a blessing to make sure we know Belize is the right answer.
We are grateful to be in Belize for such a time as this. God is moving in Belize and it is awesome to be a part of it.

Gee Wiz, You know me. Can’t find your card. I know it is around here somewhere. So love being with you two. So miss you and Belize as well. Please let me know what your personal needs are. It is ok to have them.
Live in the U.S. continues on…. so different from Belize. My son and I had a conversation tonight about believers and non-believers. He keeps fighting me… not a believer.
Pray for him
The simplicity of the Belizeans and the fact that not one…. no not one….asked for a material thing in their prayers, speaks volumes to me. I live in this world and must continue to try and change this one, like it or not.
So… please send me your requests, no matter how large or small and I will try to meet them.
Miss you greatly and hope to be back in Belize before you know it, haha, like it or not.
Keep me updated, Fairy Bird Mother!!!!!!
